Except in the real world, the geopolitical gains resulted only in Europe, it was a calamity beyond Europe. Economically, Russia also managed to survived the sanctions so far (who knows about later).

Militarily, Russia also is forced into outproducing and out "experiencing" NATO forces. But whether this bridges any hypothetically technological gap between NATO and Russian forces – its unknown.

Both NATO and Russia are still conserving their strengths for their direct confrontation (which is why NATO aid is so half hearted to Ukraine; and why Russia kept getting pushed back, albeit very slowly).

We shall see this went to shit and becomes a direct war between NATO and Russia.

The first to absolutely regret all the stupidity the past 2 years, would be the Finland and the Baltic States.
