War always seems "fine" for the soldier and they feel like "they have it in control" – until just ONE single military failure, most of the brothers would be wiped out and you left wondering, how you managed to feel so positive for the past months or even year.

This applies on both sides by the way.

Almost every interview of soldiers, especially those haven't get sent to a suicide mission, feels confident and positive.

The reality is, you dont have a chance to feel negative – because when you do get yourself in a "shit hits the fan" situation, high chance is, you are dead.

Its like this famous diagram the bullet holes of returning war planes. Initial thoughts would be that this are the place we need to reinforce since they seemed to be targeted more, but upon deeper thinking, its the parts that have no bullet holes are the ones you need to reinforce….

… because those planes get shot there, never returned.
