Everyone like to claim, "oh, he have contacts that you dont; he have friends/connection in the pentagon"…
Dude. No one goes around revealing classified information freely, that at the first place, shouldnt be told to you. Especially not in the middle of a war.
Why would anyone tell him anything classified; when you know he WILL throw such information into public domain? Compromising classified information is jailable offense in any country.
When you get privileged information, you have a severe responsibility to decide what to do with it – usually – you do nothing with it. You dont share it. You dont reveal it. You dont compromise the security and welfare of your source.
When I was in the military, with security clearance – not even my mum or then gf know what I do in the army. No one knows. Everyone is just guessing and fantasizing. Because it is professionalism.
It is basic professionalism to keep classified information mum and out of the public domain.
If you are American – and you think someone would spill classified information to him, whose full time job now is be "an expert", sharing his opinion about things, is a good thing – you have a bigger problem on your hands about the state of affair in US military.
